Merzouga is about 550 km from Marrakech, 8 to 9 hours of driving, and about 340 km from Fes. The dunes of Erg Chebbi begin at the edge of the village: a sunset camel ride takes about two hours, and the overnight trek with a night in a Berber camp returns at sunrise. Our four-day tour from Fes and the five-day loop from Marrakech also reach Merzouga, so you can arrive with us instead of on your own.
Camel rides leave from Merzouga in the afternoon, so you reach the dunes for sunset. We collect you at your hotel or guesthouse in Merzouga; getting to Merzouga is not included but can be arranged.
