A long day trip of ten to eleven hours, about 165 km each way, to Zagora and Tamegroute. You visit the old Koranic library of Tamegroute and its workshops that make green glazed pottery, and finish at the dunes near Zagora, where an optional short camel ride gives you a first taste of the desert.

Is it worth going to Zagora for one day?

The day is long, about ten to eleven hours, and the dunes near Zagora are modest. It is a good first look; for dunes and a night in camp, take the two-day Zagora tour or one of the Erg Chigaga tours.

Can I turn this day trip into an overnight tour?
