Why choose this route

These are the complete Sahara treks. You cross the High Atlas by 4x4, walk through the dune fields beyond M'Hamid and return by bus, with riad nights in Marrakech at both ends. The longer the trek, the more dune fields it links, and the 13-day version adds a full rest day.

Frequently asked questions

Which long trek should I choose: 10, 11 or 13 days?

The 10-day trek is the gentlest: six walking days and the western dunes of Erg Zmaila, Erg Zahar and Erg Ait Ounir. The 11-day trek walks on to Erg Chigaga over seven days. The 13-day trek links five dune fields over eight walking days and includes a full rest day at Erg Smar. The longer the trek, the more demanding it is.
